This restaurant is ideal for food lovers who appreciate nuanced French and Italian flavors served in a convivial environment. Whether you arrive as a local or a visitor exploring Bali’s dining scene, Bartolo French/Italian Restaurant stands as an inviting spot for savoring dishes that respect tradition while embracing a relaxed, contemporary spirit.

In summary, Bartolo combines excellent French-Italian cuisine, polished service, and an inviting setting in Uluwatu. Its dishes, especially the seafood and lamb options, demonstrate culinary finesse, while the desserts and cocktails round out the experience. Slight distractions such as ambient noise and waiting times during busy hours do little to diminish the overall appeal of this dining destination. For those seeking a memorable meal that captures the essence of modern bistro dining in Bali, Bartolo is a refined choice well worth exploring.

Beautiful restaurant with a stylish setting and great vibe. The food is delicious and well-presented, especially the pastas and small plates, and the wine list is impressive. Service is friendly, though it can be a little slow at busy times. Prices are on the higher side, but overall it’s a lovely spot for a nice dinner in Uluwatu.

Lovely diner experience for our date night. Really good classic Negroni. Tasteful appetizers and well cooked pasta ( from an Italian ). They use quality ingredients for each dish. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes from their menu. Only little minus for us is that the food comes really really quickly but that’s also a positive note for other clients

A great little spot with an intriguing old world menu and crisp, friendly service (an increasing rarity in Bali these days). It’s a little sad the road beside the restaurant is so loud otherwise the alfresco seating would be all the more elegant but overall a star of a bistro.

We had dinner at the restaurant and everything was absolutely delicious. The food was excellent from start to finish. With the salad, my girlfriend felt there was a bit too much oil, so she politely asked if something could be done. The staff immediately prepared a new salad with less oil, which we truly appreciated. It was a very thoughtful and professional gesture. On my side, I had the gambas with lime and they were incredible. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it honestly became my favorite dish of the evening. The cocktails were also very good, well prepared and enjoyable. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience, especially by taking my girlfriend’s request seriously. We left very happy and satisfied, and we definitely recommend this place if you are looking for great food and a lively atmosphere. The only small downside is that the restaurant has become very trendy and buzzy, so there is quite a lot of traffic and noise. If you are looking for a very calm and quiet place, this might not be the best option. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic spot where you can eat extremely well, and the gambas with lime are an absolute must.

Bartolo is a lovely neighbourhood bistro in Uluwatu, serving French–Italian–inspired cooking alongside an excellent wine and cocktail list. Having previously eaten at their sister venue Lulu Bistrot in Canggu (which was outstanding), my expectations were understandably high. We started with the marinated octopus salad with Provençale dressing. While it sounded promising and certainly had flavour, it was ultimately a little underwhelming as a dish. In contrast, the sourdough bread with dipping oil was exceptional — easily a highlight and beautifully executed. For mains, the market fish cooked en papillote with sauce amandine (barramundi) was delicious and perfectly cooked — fragrant, moist, and bursting with flavour. The accompanying creamed potatoes, however, lacked seasoning and didn’t quite live up to the standard of the fish. Cocktails and wine were a strong point. The Cascara Negroni was excellent, and the NV Louis Perdrier Brut Excellence was crisp, dry, and very enjoyable. The venue itself is charming and relaxed, though dining outdoors in the Balinese heat can be challenging at times. Service was excellent — warm, attentive, and pitched at exactly the right level. Overall, a very enjoyable experience with some standout elements and a few areas that could be refined. Worth visiting, particularly for the fish, cocktails, and atmosphere.

We had a beautiful meal on Christmas Day at Bartolo. The food was phenomenal and the service was great too. We had the pleasure of being served mostly by Renita and she was so friendly and professional. Nothing was too much effort.

Sourdough is a must order! It’s so good we even ordered another plate. Market fish with amandine sauce is superb! Will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends that visit Bali. The waitress in glasses is super friendly and gives really good recommendations.
